Add2Gifteer, what is it?
Add2Gifteer is an API for ecommerce sites: with Add2Gifteer, your visitors can add your products to their Gifteer wish list, with a click of a button.

Why would an ecommerce site use Add2Gifteer?
Half of your traffic is probably related to visitors who want your products, but are not ready to buy them, at least now. They have three possibilities: (1) sigh, leave your site and forget your products (2) remember your site and come back later to buy your product (3) have a friend offer them the product.
There is not much we can do for you for (1)…

Add2Gifteer, how does it work for my visitors?
As a visitor of an ecommerce site, you see an “Add2Gifteer” button next to a product, and you click on it. Either you are already logged in (you are already a Gifteer user, and a cookie identifies you), and then you land on the form where you can add the wish, with fields already pre-populated (name, description, URL, image, price), and all you have to do is save the wish. Or you are not logged in, and you have can either create a new account or use an existing account, then you are back on the pre-populated form, and you’re good to go!

Add2Gifteer, how do I use it?
As the administrator of your ecommerce site, all you have to do is to add links next to your products, using a precise format:
http://gifteer.com/#user/0-Program-Partner/wishes/add2gifteer/wishitemname/[NAME]/wishitemdescription/[DESCRIPTION]/link/[URL]/price/[PRIX]/imageUrl/[IMAGEURL]

Where you replace :

• [NAME] by the name of the product (ex : “Ugly Betty DVD”)
• [DESCRIPTION] by the description that you are suggesting
• [URL] by the URL bringing Gifteer users back to your site (this is very important for you: if a user adds one of your products as a wish on Gifteer.com, it is highly likely that someone will buy it to him soon, and you definitely want this person to come back to your site…….)
• [PRIX] by the approximate price of the product
• [IMAGEURL] by the URL of an image illustrating the product.

Note that :

• parameters need to be encoded (ex : http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.fr%2Fintl%2Ffr_fr%2Fimages%2Flogo.gif par exemple). Be careful, only the parameters are encoded, not the entire URL.
• all the parameters need to appear, even if you set them as empty.
